Product walkthrough · Verification & risk

OpenKYB answers "is this business real, and can we trust it?" - with the evidence.

An open-source business-verification and risk-intelligence platform. It checks a company against official registries and sanctions lists worldwide, resolves who it really is, scores identity and risk separately, and keeps watching after onboarding - every conclusion traceable to the evidence behind it.

Module 01 · Global Connectors

One check, every source that matters

OpenKYB pulls from authoritative registries and lists through a plugin connector system - US state incorporations, UK Companies House, sanctions and legal-entity databases - so a single verification consults many jurisdictions instead of one. New sources are connectors, not rewrites.

Module 02 · Entity Resolution

Same business, many spellings - resolved to one

"Acme Ltd," "ACME Limited," and "Acme Holdings" at the same address may be one entity or three. OpenKYB's resolution matches names and addresses across sources into a single canonical entity, so the verification is about a real company, not a string someone typed.

Module 03 · Risk Engine

Two questions, never confused: who are you, and are you risky?

Most tools blur "we couldn't confirm you" with "you look dangerous." OpenKYB keeps identity confidence and risk score separate, each 0–100, built from six dimensions - registry, consistency, ownership, digital footprint, operational, and adverse signals. A policy then decides: auto-approve, review, or reject, with reason codes.

Module 04 · Evidence & Explainability

Every conclusion traces back to a document

A score you can't explain is a liability. OpenKYB stores immutable evidence for each check and separates facts (the registry said X on this date) from inferences (so we concluded Y). When a decision is questioned - by a customer, an auditor, or a regulator - the trail is already there.

Module 05 · Knowledge Graph & Monitoring

See the ownership, and keep watching after "approved"

A business is a network - owners, parents, directors, related entities. OpenKYB builds that graph so hidden connections and ultimate beneficial owners surface, then keeps monitoring after onboarding: a new sanction, a status change, or an adverse-media hit raises an alert instead of going unnoticed.

Module 06 · From KYB to KYA · Roadmap

Next: verifying agents, not just businesses, in the 402 era

The same engine that answers "is this business real and trustworthy" is being pointed at a newer question: is this AI agent who it claims, and who does it act for? As HTTP 402 and x402 make agents pay for services inline, a counterparty needs identity and reputation for the agent on the other end.

Emerging standards make that possible - draft ERCs for trustless-agent identity and reputation registries, account-abstraction EIPs for agent wallets, and x402 for the payment itself. OpenKYB's evidence store, risk dimensions, and monitoring map cleanly onto agents, and this ties directly into Africa Connect, our MCP gateway where agents already meet verified businesses.

Roadmap
KYA is a roadmap direction. Standards named here are emerging/draft; OpenKYB is positioned to score and monitor agent identity, not claiming a finished implementation.

Built like infrastructure

OpenKYB is a TypeScript monorepo - a Fastify API, a Next.js dashboard and a hosted applicant flow, a plugin connector SDK, an immutable evidence store, entity resolution, a knowledge graph, and a policy-driven risk engine. Open-source, in active development, designed to add jurisdictions and, next, agents.

Need to verify businesses - or the agents acting for them?

OpenKYB is an open-source verification and risk platform in active development, with a roadmap into agent identity for the 402 era. If you run onboarding, marketplaces, or an agent economy, or want to invest in the direction, let's talk.
